What you'll be learning:
Skill Analysis: Dive deep into the biomechanics behind skill improvement by analysing and refining a physical skill. Whether it's hockey, squash, or golf, you'll see tangible improvement and understand the science behind effective movement.
Performance Improvement: Apply different methods and principles of training to achieve a personal goal and learn about what sport psychology factors impact improvement. .
Critical Inquiry: Explore current physical activity trends and issues that matter to you. From the impact of technology on sport to the latest fitness fads, you'll analyse complex topics, evaluate evidence, and form informed opinions. This deep dive into contemporary issues is excellent preparation for PE Scholarship.
Adventure and Application: Get ready for our highlight event: the Cross Country Skiing camp at Snow Farm in Wanaka! This isn't just a trip; it's a chance to apply theory in a dynamic, real-world setting, tackling safety management in outdoor environments and demonstrating your performance in an exciting new context.

Description
This is your opportunity to lead, innovate, and immerse yourself in extended outdoor experiences. Level 3 Outdoor Education will challenge you physically and mentally, while providing vital life skills that are highly valued in any pathway you choose.
What you'll be learning:
Adventure Based Learning: Engage in advanced high ropes challenges (Adventure Southland Ltd, Invercargill).
Mountain Biking: Conquer the stunning Lake Dunstan Trail and further refine your advanced riding techniques.
Rock Climbing: Undertake advanced rock climbing challenges.
Environmental Awareness: Critically examine environmental issues relevant to outdoor pursuits and contribute to sustainable practices.
Scuba Diving: Gain an incredible new perspective by experiencing Scuba (with Dive Otago Ltd).
Multi-Day Tramping: Plan and execute challenging 2-3 day tramps, demonstrating advanced navigation, safety, and leadership.
Haerenga/Journey: Conclude your experience with a significant 3-day journey around Ĺtepoti and its surrounds, integrating all your learned skills and values.
Whakawhanaungatanga and Kaitiakitanga: Continue to develop and embody these essential values through all your advanced outdoor experiences.
