Art history provides a means by which we can understand our human past and its relationship to our present. During this course you will:
Explore Art History from the 1400's to the present, to uncover the real story of art history, not just the "white male artist" narrative
Critically examine the representation of women in Art and the evolving role of female artists
Explore themes related to patriarchy, power, gender, racism, activism, the beauty industry, and popular culture
Learn how to develop critical skills, to think about art and history from a variety of perspectives, and to present your ideas succinctly and persuasively
